A very big THANK YOU to all of our 2017 Georgia Pollinator Census counters. They navigated school breaks and a hurricane to gather data on the types of pollinators visiting Georgia in the fall.
We will be repeating the project in 2018 counting in September/October. As with 2017, you will be asked to count twice a week for 15 minutes per counting period. You will be asked to pick a favorite pollinator plant and to count on that plant each time.
If you are a new garden that wishes to participate, please send the following information to me at beckygri@uga.edu:
Garden Name
Garden Address
County
Contact Name
Contact Email address
We will finalize our list of counting gardens by May 1st. In early August I will provide training on what to count and how to do it! All counts are uploaded to a website and support is provided throughout the project. This project was designed to assist schools with STEM programming! Please contact me with any questions (beckygri@uga.edu).
Feel free to join our Facebook page (Georgia Pollinator Census) to follow the project and to be inspired with insect information.
